Free Video Compress is designed to respect your privacy. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information. In short: your videos stay on your device, and we do not collect personal information.
Compression happens entirely on your iPhone. The video you pick is read, re-encoded and written back on the device itself. It is never uploaded, stored on a server, or shared with anyone. The app reads a video only after you choose it in the photo picker, and it asks for permission to add videos to your library only when you tap “Save to Photos.”
Compressed files are kept in temporary storage so you can save or share them, and are cleared automatically when you move on to another video.
To understand how the app is used and to improve it, Free Video Compress sends anonymous usage events to Aptabase, a privacy-focused analytics service that stores its data in the European Union. Events record things like “a video was compressed,” along with technical details such as file size, video length, resolution, app version, iOS version, device model and language.
These events carry no name, email address, advertising identifier or any other persistent identifier, and cannot be linked back to you or followed across other apps. No video content, file name or thumbnail is ever included. The app uses no advertising or tracking services.
The one-time purchase that unlocks unlimited compressions is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. Whether you have purchased the unlock is stored on your device and with your Apple Account, so you can restore it.
Free Video Compress does not require an account and does not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, photo library contents, or any other personal data.
Free Video Compress does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
