Live Pinyin Camera Lens (“Live Pinyin” below) reads Chinese text through the camera and prints pinyin above it. The reading happens on the device.
Camera frames are used only to recognize text on the device, using Apple’s built-in text recognition. Frames are not sent anywhere and are not stored unless you save a picture yourself.
Saved pictures, and the recognized text stored alongside them, are kept in the app’s own folder on the device. Live Pinyin does not upload them to a Live Pinyin account or server. Deleting a picture in the app, or deleting the app, removes them.
Live Pinyin uses Aptabase for anonymous product analytics: which screens and controls were used, counts such as how many lines were recognized, and whether a purchase succeeded. Each event carries a random identifier created on first launch — not your name, Apple Account or advertising identifier — plus the app language and device region.
Recognized Chinese text, pinyin, camera frames and saved pictures are never sent.
Unlimited camera time is a one-time purchase handled by the App Store. Apple processes the payment; the app is only told whether the purchase is active.
Live Pinyin does not track you across other apps or websites and contains no advertising.
