Tap Choose a video and pick one from your library. The app works out the best settings for it and shows you the size it will end up at before you commit. Tap Compress video, then save the result to Photos or share it.
Because you shouldn't need them. The app looks at the resolution, frame rate and bitrate of the video you picked and chooses the strongest compression that still looks good on a phone screen. The estimated size shown before you tap is worked out from those exact settings, so it lands within a few percent of the real result.
One per day for free. The counter resets at midnight, local time. A one-time purchase removes the limit for good — it's a single payment, not a subscription.
Open Settings in the app and tap Restore purchase. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with. If it still doesn't come back, email us and we'll sort it out.
No. Compression happens entirely on your iPhone, and your video is never sent to a server or shared. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Nowhere until you say so. Tap Save to Photos to put it in your library, or Share to send it straight to another app. If you move on to the next video without doing either, the compressed file is discarded.
Some videos are already tightly compressed — clips downloaded from the web or sent through a messaging app often are. When there's little left to squeeze, the app says so on the preview screen rather than re-encoding it for nothing.
Yes. The app writes standard MP4 files using H.264, which plays on essentially any phone, computer or website. Videos that were already in the newer HEVC format stay in it, since your device clearly handles it.
